Illumina acquired Verinata Health in 2014, a provider of noninvasive tests for early identification of fetal chromosomal abnormalities, for $350 million up-front plus up to $100 million in milestone payments through 2015. Illumina has cases with Natera, Oxford nanopore and Ariosa Diagnostic.

Pacific Biosciences of California, Inc. is an American biotechnology company founded in 2004 that develops and manufactures systems for gene sequencing and some novel real time biological observation. PacBio describes its platform as single molecule real time sequencing (SMRT), based on the properties of zero-mode waveguides. Company has two cases with Oxford nanopore.
