PremiumHousehold Durables Household Appliances
Climate Change / Household Appliances Technology Report
Application Period: 2011 – 2021
Adaptation of household appliances against climate change is on the rise. According to C2ES Reports, major household appliance purchases are significant in the issue of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and global climate change for two reasons. First, big home appliances consume almost a third of residential electricity, a substantial source of greenhouse emissions. Second, appliance purchases allow consumers to directly control GHG emissions. Unless other considerations intervene, most consumers would prefer to buy energy-efficient, cost-effective, and ecologically friendly appliances.
In this report, over 10,000 patent applications filed worldwide between 2011 and 2021 in the field of household appliances against climate change were examined.
